Return to: Fire Department

The Lyon Township Fire Department's Vial of Life program allows a patient to communicate with emergency responders even if he or she is non-responsive. The Vial of Life is a large prescription medicine bottle identified by a large blue Star of Life. The vial should be placed in a freezer door shelf compartment. Inside the vial is a form on which people can indicate medical history, prescriptions, allergies, and emergency contact information. This form allows first responders to know what ailments a patient may be suffering from without having to wait for tests.
