Unauthorized trash dumping in Lyon Township costs our citizens unnecessary dollars. Besides the cost, having trash along our roadways endangers our health, safety, and environment. Illegal dumping also fosters a negative image of our community. Our experience shows that people are much more likely to dump on property where dumping already exists.
Putting a stop to illegal dumping makes good environmental and economical sense. Please help us by working together for a cleaner, healthier, and safer community. With everyone's help, we can keep this issue under control.
If you witness activity that you believe is illegal dumping, please call Lyon Township at 248-437-2240.
Recreational Vehicle (RV) Dumping
Lyon Township would like to remind residents that household hazardous waste can pollute our waterways if washed or dumped into storm drains or roadside ditches that lead directly to lakes and streams. Please dispose of RV sanitary waste at nearby drop-off locations. More information on locations and requirements: http://www.rvdumps.com.
